Lenin's Mausoleum

Lenin's MausoleumEven visitors who oppose Lenin's views or indifferent to him will find it worthwhile, for the sake of the experience, to join the queue - sometimes apparentlyendless, particularly in summer - and go down into the air conditionedvault in which the embalmed body of the founder of the Soviet State liesin a glass coffin. The Lenin Mausoleum, designed by the outstanding Sovietarchitect Alexei Shchusev, waserected in Red Square in 1930, replacinga wooden mausoleum built there immediately after Lenin's death.
