The Senate Tower


Senate Tower The Senate (Senatskaya) Tower. Immediately behind the Lenin Mausoleum is the Senate Tower, built in 1491 by Pietro Antonio Solari. It was given its present name after the building of the Senate (1776-87), just inside the walls at this point. The superstructure dates from 1680. The height of the tower is 34.3 metres (113 ft).
